Of course, clutter is a habit that needs to be changed. It takes time and effort. And yet, you will definitely see good results.
There is nothing better than coming home, where all things are arranged in their places. Organizing takes time. No one can deny it. However, once you get used to it, you will be able to be more organized in any area. You will be able to get rid of the feeling of tension and stress.
Tips on how to have a tidy house
Over the next weekend, take a few hours to clean your house and put everything in its place. Of course, then you will need to keep the habit. However, when you see how good everything looks, you will want to make an effort to avoid clutter.
1. Start with one room
If you want your house to be in perfect condition, you will not be able to clean all your rooms at once.
Start with a specific place, such as the living room. You should start with the room you first see when you return home. Look at what is inappropriate and put it in place.
2. Find a specific place for each thing
Just keep kitchen utensils and food in the kitchen, books, and magazines in the library, clothes, and shoes in the closet, etc. You need to determine a specific place for everything to make it easier to find later.
If you need a coat, look for it at the door, not on the couch. This will save you a lot of time when you are in a hurry and can’t find what you want.
3. Follow the plan
You can also have a cleaning plan for each room. For example, put all dirty clothes in a drawer and then in the washing machine. Or throw all the garbage in the trash, make the bed, put clean linen in the closet, and put the furniture in place.
If you follow the plan in each room, cleaning will be much easier. Remember, to be more organized, you need a strategy. That way, you won’t be cleaning all weekend.
4. Throw away things you don’t use
You probably don’t use many things. These can be old things or those that are not needed for one reason or another.
It’s time to throw them out. You can also repair them or donate them to charity.
The accumulation of things is one of the causes of clutter. This is because you stack things that do not have a specific place, on the floor, on a chair, or just throw them in a corner.
5. Dirty things need to be cleaned
The main rules of an organized home are “If you use it, put it in place. Wash what is dirty”. Everyone in the family should do it.
When your house is clean and everything is tidy, maintaining this order can be the most difficult. However, it just depends on changing your habits. You also need to understand the benefits of a tidy home.
6. Use drawers or folders
There are often things that you do not want to throw away or donate because they are very valuable to you. They may be necessary, even if you do not use them often.
It is a good solution to buy decorated boxes for various subjects (for example, devices). That way, you won’t be surrounded by clutter.
Don’t forget to label them so you know what’s in the boxes. Then place them under your bed or on the last shelf of the closet. You can also put them in your garage or on shelves.
7. Buying new furniture
You may have a problem with cluttering because you don’t have enough furniture to store things.
This does not mean that you have to fill your home with furniture, or the furniture should not be an excuse for you to continue buying things that you do not need.
However, this could solve the problem of clutter, and you could put everything in a new closet.
